Dr. Shaikh, is a Consultant Diabetologist and Metabolic Physician based in Mumbai with numerous qualifications, including fellowships from the Indian Society of Chronomedicine and Diabetes India. Dr. Shaikh has dedicated her career to advancing diabetes management and improving patient outcomes.

She has been recognized as the ATTD Breakthrough Outcomes Award recipient for her research and medical education contributions, presenting at national and international forums and reviewing medical journals.

As part of the award, Dr. Shaikh will receive a prize valued at €13,000, which includes registration, accommodation, and travel expenses to attend the ATTD 2026 conference. The selection of Dr. Shaikh was made by an esteemed International Scientific Committee of experts in the field of diabetes care.

As an advisory board member of SOO-DAWI, an NGO focused on diabetes wellness in Africa, and recipient of several prestigious accolades, such as the ACP India Chapter Women Educator Award and the “Compassionate D Education Award,” Dr. Shaikh’s impact extends far beyond her clinical practice. She has also authored books, including Footprints of Wellness and Path to Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Remission, and contributed to multiple research publications.

Dr. Shaikh’s role during the COVID-19 pandemic was pivotal, as she helped manage diabetes care at India’s largest COVID-19 center, earning recognition from the Honorable Mayor of Mumbai. Her expertise has been shared at numerous national and international forums, and she continues to be a valuable reviewer for several medical journals.
