World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day

Dear people with diabetes, dear friends and colleagues,

World Diabetes Day is marked annually on 14 November commemorating the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with others in 1922. The aim of this day is to raise awareness about diabetes: its causes, its prevention, the devastating effects it has on human lives and the costs it incurs on people and healthcare systems worldwide.

We, at ATTD succeeded in uniting health care professionals, scientists, engineers, regulatory bodies, associations, foundations, corporations, investors and more recently people with diabetes for a faster development and more universal availability of the most advanced technologies, medications and treatments for diabetes. In the last 12 years of our joint efforts, we made a very visible progress.

ATTD invites us all to stay united and focused on reducing the burden of diabetes until we are finally able to cure it.

See you in Berlin,
Prof. Battelino & Prof. Phillip
